Illustration created for exhibit and fundraiser event Spacenite 2: A Tribute to Bill Mantlo, organized by Floating World Comic to help comic-book writer Bill Mantlo, victim of a hit-and-run accident in 1992 and residing in a healthcare facility ever since. The art, limited to a single signed print accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, was exhibited and auctioned em December 2010 along with artworks from several other artists from around the world. Even though we could do whatever we wanted with the character ROM, I was determined to recreate one of the original covers. I found a nice cover archive at coverbrowser.com and from the entire collection, issue #10 with all those F-16 Fighting Falcon flying over Washington was the one that really caught my attention. It was definitely time to draw some cool jet fighters.
