Layers over layers, dreams over dreams. Duties. Formalities. Desires. Junihitoe, the twelve-layer robe, worn by court-ladies around the 10th century during the Heian Era of Japan. Once there was an idea for a book, but like the court-ladies I currently live with too much duties, keeping the book only as a dream. It also appeared on the pages of Taschen Illustration Now 3, Art Box International New Illustrators File Volume 9 and later featured on Communication Arts FRESH webpage. And the book? Duties... Formalities... Desires... |
