Kako is an award-winning illustrator and graphic designer based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In the past 25 years, his work has been recognized in annuals and art books such as Communication Arts, Society of Illustrators, AI-AP, Illustration Now!, New Illustrators File, SPD, Lurzer's Archive, The Illustrator and has received several awards including a Gold Lion at Cannes Advertising Festival, the Grand Prix at El Sol and the Gold Medal at El Ojo de Iberoamerica Advertising Festival..

He was recently selected to be part of the book 100 Illustrators, written by Steven Heller and Julius Wiedemann and published by Taschen, as one of today’s most successful and important illustrators.

Clients include Nike, Sony, Samsung, Heineken, Ford, GM, Microsoft, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Playboy, Fool Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Car & Driver, Fortune Magazine, Scholastic, Companhia das Letras, Leo Burnett Taylor Made, AlmapBBDO, Talent, W/McCann, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, DM9DDB, Ogilvy & Mather, Wunderman, Young & Rubican and Publicis.

In 2018, Kako joined Arvore Immersive Experiences as Production Designer and Creative Director, working closely to many talented professionals in titles such as The Line and Pixel Ripped 1995. In 2020 Kako directed his first game, YUKI, a roguelite bullet hell in VR. YUKI not only achieved the amazing 82 score at Metacritics, but also won BEST 2021 VR game at Raindance Festival and was nominated for Immersive Reality Technical Achievement in the prestigious DICE Awards.
